Volunteers

Volunteering
is not only rewarding, but also fun. Plaid
House is looking for individuals who are interested in working
with teenage girls. We are in need of people who can offer one
or two hours a week to be a mentor for a resident. A mentor
offers guidance, support and individual attention to one resident.
This is especially important for those residents who do not
receive regular contact from their families.
We
also need people who have particular skills or talents which
they can share with the girls. Examples of such skills would
be crafts, hairstyling, yoga or cooking. Sometimes a group of
people volunteers to organize an outing once a month for a group
of girls.
Plaid
House is also in need of additional Board
Members. In addition to meetings every other month the Board
carries out its tasks through various committees. If you feel
unable to make the commitment as a Board Member but can still
contribute your talents to one of the following committees:
- Fundraising
-
Public relations
- Program
and personnel
- Finance
- Board
development.

you are interested in exploring volunteerism, please contact
us or call Bernadette Clarke, Business Manager at 973-267-4008.
